Do beans make me fart?

I don't know wether I get this, but I have chips and beans on a Thursday. This week I've had it twice probably due to a day mix-up, and every single time I save the best til last. Yesterday morning I farted and told Billy, today I've been told by Daddy Cool (Davie Barrass) to try and keep the noise down it was so loud. So something must be going on. I didn't quite get it when Davie told me. Do beans really do it? Anyway, if they do, I've promised Billy I'll try not to do it today, and if I do, not be so loud!
